Xerox_Follow_You Printing on mobile devices

Need Evaluated: DO NOT USE

In fall of 2019, Motherboard worked alongside our Printing & Mailing team to replace a number of printers that have quite a few new functions, such as card swipe sign-in and follow-you-printing.

  • Make sure the document you are wanting to print is on your mobile device.

  • On your mobile device, open the document and click the "Share" button.

  • Scroll along the bottom menu until you find the "Print" option and select it.

  • This will open up to a menu titled "Printer Options". Click on "Printer" at the top and be sure to select the "xerox_follow_you" option from the list of printers.

  • After adjusting other settings to your preference (i.e., one or multiple copies, double-sided, etc.), hit "Print" in the top right-hand corner.

  • On the next screen, sign in with your username and password that you use to sign into Moodle and Portal.

  • Find a nearby copier with this function. These printers will be the AltaLink B8055s or (any other copiers).

  • Once at the printer, sign in or swipe your MVNU ID card and select the account you are printing to.

  • You will be redirected to the home page of applications on the copier. Find the icon named "Xerox_Follow_You" and select it.

  • You should see the document that you shared with the xerox_follow_you printer in the list of jobs. Select the job and hit the green button that says "Print". Your document should now be printing.
