Campus Adobe Licenses

Adobe has become the industry standard for many graphic design, video and audio production careers around the world. MVNU provides lab licensing for use in the computer labs on campus as well as individualized licensing for students enrolled in specific courses.

License Differences

AICUO - MVNU

MVNU utilizes two types of licenses for use on campus. The first, titled “AICUO - Mount Vernon Nazarene University” provides a specialized license that can be used in Labs around campus and is built to allow multiple people to have access to the same “shared” computer. While this benefit allows us to have no limit on how many people can access Adobe on the same computer, it does have limitations. These include no permissions to:

  • Cloud Storage*

  • Libraries

  • Fonts

  • Stock

*Save your work in the ThawSpace, on external media (flashdrive), or out in the cloud (ITS recommends OneDrive)

MVNU IT

The second license, titled “Mount Vernon Nazarene University IT” is provided to individual students who have been enrolled in a specific course (see list below) that includes a tech fee to cover the license for one (1) academic year. This license allows the student to download and install Adobe software on their own computer as well as provides 50GB of storage for designs or “assets.” However, keep in mind that the Adobe license is only available for the school year and any files saved to Adobe’s cloud storage will be lost once your Adobe license is lost. For this reason, and because of the included OneDrive storage that comes with all student accounts, ITS recommends storing your files on OneDrive which would provide you universal access throughout your time here at MVNU. Instructions for doing so and how to move files from an Adobe cloud library are located below.

It is important to note that this license is only available for the academic year you’re enrolled in (Fall & Spring).

How to sign in to download Adobe

  1. Visit Adobe.com

  2. Click “Sign In” in the top-right corner

  3. Type in your MVNU email address (username@mail.mvnu.edu)

  4. When prompted for type of account, select “Company or School Account” (see picture below.)

  5. You should then be re-directed to the standard Microsoft sign-in page (with a picture of the chapel in the background) where you can sign in with your MVNU credentials.

  6. It will then ask for a “Profile” to sign in to. Select the “Mount Vernon Nazarene University IT” option to allow access to the individual access license.

  7. Once signed in, you should be able to click the menu button to display everything you should have access to.

  8. If you click “Creative Cloud” it should take you to a page allowing you to download and install specific Adobe apps.

How to move Assets to OneDrive

If you already have files saved to your MVNU account, ITS recommends moving them to OneDrive so that when the MVNU-provided Adobe license expires, you won’t lose access to your assets. Follow these steps to migrate the files.

This process is time consuming, tedious and must be done one file at a time.

  1. Visit assets.adobe.com

  2. When hovering over a file a check-box will appear.

  3. Select the file you want to download.

  4. Click the Ellipses (…) following the share menu.

  5. Click “Download”

  6. It should save the file in your “Downloads” folder

  7. Visit onedrive.live.com

  8. Click “Add New” on the left-hand column

  9. Create Folders as needed to organize your file(s)

  10. Select all the files you want to upload to OneDrive.

Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ

If you get the following image when trying to access and download fonts or stock images it is most likely because you have not yet been granted the correct license for your course. Please contact the MotherBoard Tech Center and they can assist you.

If you have been granted a full license which allows you to install Adobe products on your computer, it will remain functional as long as you are enrolled in and attending any of the above courses.
