Common Questions

All I see is an icon with someone else’s username. How do I login?
  • At the bottom of the login window, look for (and click on) an icon that says “Sign In with Microsoft Entra ID.” That should bring up the login window you need to sign in.

What if I’m somewhere without internet? Can I still sign in?
  • If you already signed in when you picked the laptop up from the Tech Center, Yes. Simply click on the “Local Account” icon at the bottom of the sign in screen and login using the same credentials you used initially.

What if I need to install something?
  • For security reasons, these laptops are provided without administrative rights. However, if you need something installed, please contact the Tech Center and they can use an administrative login to help.

What if I don’t remember my password?
  • Contact the Tech Center to have your password reset. Once that has been done, as long as you’re connected to the internet, the new password should work to log back in to the laptop.

When I turn the laptop back in what happens to my information?
  • The Tech Center will plan to keep it saved on that computer throughout the rest of the semester so that you can come back and check it back out again as needed. During the transition between semesters, or if the hard drive gets full, they will login as an administrator and delete older/unused accounts.
