How to Manually Install Computer Updates
Please note that this guide is for those who wish to manually check for and install updates on their Windows PCs. Regular MVNU computer updates will install automatically after work hours without user action. In other words: If you want to install updates ahead of time this guide is for you and if you do not then your PC will take care of them automatically for you.
Introduction
This guide will cover the process of checking for and installing any computer updates manually, before they install automatically after work hours.
How to Check and Install
All of your computer updates are located in an application called Software Center. This app is a hub for all Windows, Office and other MVNU hosted updates for your PC. To check for available updates we will need to open the app.
To do so first click on your Start Menu/Search Bar and type Software Center to search for it.
Once you have found the app, click on it to open it.
In Software Center there are multiple sections listed in the left-hand column. Applications will list any programs that are managed through Microsoft and are in need of being updated. Updates display any patches or updates to Microsoft managed software (Windows, Office, Teams, etc…). Operating Systems is where you would go to upgrade to a new distribution of Windows (which needs to be done annually).

Updates
On the Updates page you will see all updates that your PC is waiting to install. If this page is blank then congratulations, your PC is fully up to date and you can close Software Center.
If the Updates page shows various updates click Install All to begin the installation process.
Once the updates are done installing your PC may notify you that it needs to reboot. (Some updates require a reboot and some don’t). If this happens, save your work and reboot your PC to finalize the update process. Congrats, your PC is up to date!
